💪🏼💪🏼Here’s an MRI image comparing the cross-sectional areas of the thighs of a sedentary 74 y/o to a 74 y/o triathlete. You can see how adipose tissue (or fat) has started to infiltrate the quadriceps muscles 🦵🏼in the top picture. This is a natural part of aging or just a natural part of being a couch potato. Luckily, in the bottom picture you can see a healthy amount of muscle mass in a person of the same age who trains for triathlons. 🎉Great news: we can prevent age related muscle loss through exercise!🎉 What do you include in your fitness routine to prevent muscle loss??
