Athletic Conditioning
Improve Sports performance, reduce pain and muscular tension, increase body awareness and reduce the risk of injury all in one class. The primary cause of chronic injury in many athletes is muscle imbalance leading to poor biomechanics and repetitive overuse. When muscles get too tight or become painful, the body will often compensate. It's these compensatory changes that often lead to poor posture, increased wear and tear on the joints (including the spine) and a degradation in sports performance. In this Pilates reformer class we aim to use focused, precise movement, balanced strength and flexibility techniques and targeted proprioceptive training to get at the root of these compensatory changes. For athletes of all levels who are looking to make a change in their bodies and break the cycle of compensation.
